Wondering how to track your visa application? Look no further! This guide provides you with all the information you need to track your visa application in real-time. So keep reading.
After you send in your application, you have to wait until the Embassy decides what to do with it. This process will take two to three weeks, depending on your country of origin (for more information, see the Processing Time page visa application tracking status and if your file is complete. But in some cases, it may take longer.
You can find out what’s going on with your application by looking at the reference number on the receipt you get on the day of your appointment. If you chose the SMS service, you will be told about the status of your application by SMS and email. The last text message you’ll get will let you know when your application is ready to be picked up at the Visa Application Centre.

Monday through Friday, between 16:00 and 17:30, is when you can pick up your passport. Please bring your receipt, an extra copy of the bio-data page (the page with your photo), and a copy of the signature page (if the applicant’s signature is not on the bio-data page).
Applicants who can’t pick up their passports in person can give someone else permission to do so. The authorized person will need to bring a photocopy of the passport with the stapled receipt; a letter of authorization signed by the applicant (you can see an example of an authorization letter here), and a photo ID.
When the passport is returned to the applicant or the authorized person; a stamp will be put on the photocopy of the passport, the receipt, and the authorization letter; if there is one, will be kept by VFS.
At the end of the process of getting a passport; VFS asks every person who got a passport to sign the Register of Passport collection.
Applicants are told to check that the visa they were given works with their travel plans when they pick up their passports.
Your passport will be sent to you by mail.
If you chose the Courier Service, your passport will be sent to you via DX Securemail.
You will be able to start tracking your DX Securemail envelope the day after you get a message from the Visa Application Centre that it is being sent to you. To track your envelope, please use the 10-digit number on the DX Securemail sticker on your receipt. Please go to the DX Securemail website and put in your 10-digit DX tracking number and your postcode. If there are any problems with delivery, please call DX Securemail directly at the number on their website.
You might be able to choose between the “5 working day priority service” and the “next working day super priority service” for faster processing. The timeframes for priority services will start when you finish your appointment to give your biometric information and supporting evidence. These times do not include the time it takes to give you your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP). After a decision has been made on your application, you should get your BRP within 7 business days.
